This 1909 German 10 Pfennig coin was issued during the German Empire under Kaiser Wilhelm II, in the middle of World War I. Due to wartime metal shortages, many coins from this period were struck in iron rather than traditional bronze or nickel alloys.
The coin displays typical circulation wear consistent with its age and historical use. Main design elements, including the denomination and imperial eagle, remain visible. Iron coins from this era often show dark toning or oxidation, which is normal for the material and part of their authentic historical character.
