DETAILED DESCRIPTION:

Official Royal Canadian Mint 2004 The Poppy Test Token Set, issued to commemorate the development and production of Canada's historic coloured Poppy circulation coin.

This complete 7-piece set contains the 1-cent, 5-cent, 10-cent, 25-cent Poppy test token, $1 and $2 test tokens, along with the actual 2004 coloured 25-cent Poppy circulation coin.

Test tokens were produced by the Royal Canadian Mint during the development and manufacturing process to evaluate factors such as dies, plating, dimensions, materials, edge profiles, coin collars and other production characteristics.

The Poppy test token is particularly collectible because the 2004 Poppy quarter became the world's first coloured circulating coin. The set therefore represents an interesting piece of modern Canadian minting history and Royal Canadian Mint experimentation.

Only 10,000 complete sets were produced, making this a relatively limited RCM collector issue. This example remains sealed in its original packaging.
