The "H" mint mark identifies this coin as having been struck at the Heaton Mint in Birmingham, England — one of the private mints contracted by Canada during the Victorian era to supplement Royal Mint production, making this a particularly desirable variant for mint mark collectors.
The obverse bears the second portrait of Queen Victoria by Leonard C.
