The 1922 Canadian 5-cent nickel is notable as the first pure nickel issue. This circulated example shows moderate wear on King George V’s portrait and rim, yet retains good detail: the date “1922” and “CANADA” are clear, and the reverse maple leaves and Crown remain defined. Light toning has developed, adding a warm-gray patina. Minor contact marks near the date do not detract from appeal. Ideal for date-set collectors, this piece embodies post-WWI Canadian numismatic history and adds character to any collection.
