DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
The 1923 Canadian nickel retains the same 100% nickel composition introduced in 1922. This circulated piece displays moderate wear, with King George V’s portrait showing softening on the cheek and hairline. The reverse maple leaf cluster still holds visible detail, though flattened at the tips. Minor surface marks are scattered around the fields, and light gray toning has developed. The date and legends remain clear. As an early pure-nickel issue, this coin provides collectors with a tangible example of Canada’s post–World War I numismatic shift and fits perfectly into any circulated date set.
