This is the 1999 "June — From Coast to Coast" sterling silver Proof quarter — a premium collector coin from the Royal Canadian Mint's beloved Millennium Sterling Silver Proof Series, one of the most ambitious and celebrated Canadian commemorative programs ever undertaken.
While the standard 1999–2000 Millennium Series produced 25-cent coins in nickel-plated steel for general circulation, the RCM simultaneously issued a parallel sterling silver proof version of each monthly design — struck in 92.5% sterling silver with a full mirror-finish proof strike and exquisite cameo contrast between the deeply reflective fields and the frosted devices. These sterling proof quarters are significantly rarer and more valuable than their circulation counterparts, and were sold individually or as part of complete collector sets.
