This is a 2001 "Canada Day" colourized Proof-Like 25-cent coin — still in its original Royal Canadian Mint sealed packaging, never opened and never touched. A special combination of the PL finish and vibrant colour application that makes this one of the more desirable Canada Day quarter issues from the early 2000s.
The "P" mint mark confirms production at the Royal Canadian Mint's Winnipeg facility. The 2001 Canada Day quarter holds a special place in Canadian numismatic history as one of the earliest colourized Canada Day issues — part of the RCM's groundbreaking colourized coin program that captured the imagination of collectors worldwide and set the standard for colourized circulation coinage.
