This is a 2010 "100th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Navy" commemorative Loonie in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition — never circulated, with full original aureate lustre and a crisp, well-defined strike throughout.
Issued by the Royal Canadian Mint to mark the centennial of the Royal Canadian Navy, this special loonie replaces the classic common loon reverse with a proud naval commemorative design featuring HMCS Acadia — one of Canada's most historically significant vessels — paying tribute to a century of Canadian naval service and sacrifice. The Royal Canadian Navy was established on May 4, 1910, and this coin stands as a fitting numismatic tribute to the men and women who have served at sea in defence of Canada.
