DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
This is the 2002 Royal Canadian Mint Proof-Like (PL) Regular Edition Set — complete in its original RCM envelope, never opened, all seven coins in pristine Proof-Like condition. One of the most historically significant annual PL sets ever produced by the RCM, issued to mark Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee — 50 years on the throne.
Every coin in this set bears the special dual date 1952–2002 on the obverse — a commemorative feature applied across the entire 2002 circulation and collector coin series to honour half a century of Her Majesty's reign. This dual dating makes the 2002 PL set uniquely different from every other year in the series, and since Queen Elizabeth II's passing in September 2022, these Golden Jubilee sets have taken on an additional layer of historical resonance as a milestone from her lifetime of service to Canada and the Commonwealth.
The set includes all seven denominations struck at the Royal Canadian Mint's Winnipeg facility (P mint mark on applicable coins), each with the characteristic Proof-Like finish — mirrored fields and frosted devices that give each coin superior visual appeal over a standard circulation strike. The original RCM envelope presentation keeps all coins in perfect factory condition, untouched since the day they were sealed at the mint.
