Issued to honour one of the greatest jazz pianists who ever lived, this commemorative loonie celebrates Oscar Peterson — the Montreal-born virtuoso widely regarded as one of the most technically brilliant and musically gifted pianists in the history of jazz. Known as the "Maharaja of the keyboard," Peterson recorded over 200 albums throughout his extraordinary career, performed with virtually every major jazz artist of the 20th century, and won eight Grammy Awards including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
