DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
This listing includes two (2) Special Wrap Rolls of the 2023 Canadian $2 “Jean Paul Riopelle” commemorative toonie.
Issued to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Jean Paul Riopelle (1923–2002), one of Canada’s most influential painters and sculptors, this coin showcases a vibrant interpretation of his artistic style.
These rolls come directly from the Royal Canadian Mint in their original unopened special-wrap format, each containing 25 uncirculated coins for a total of 50 coins.
Surfaces may show light mint-made contact marks typical of mass production, but no circulation wear.
The reverse features Riopelle-inspired artwork in a modern, abstract motif. The obverse features the transitional effigy of Queen Elizabeth II with 4 small maple leaves.
A highly collectible issue, especially for those interested in Canadian art history, commemorative toonies, or modern RCM releases.
