DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
This 1896 Great Britain 1 Penny features the classic bronze coinage of Queen Victoria's reign and is a representative example of late Victorian British circulation coinage.
The obverse features the veiled and crowned portrait of Queen Victoria, facing left, with the surrounding legend identifying the monarch. The reverse displays the seated figure of Britannia, holding a trident and shield, with the denomination ONE PENNY prominently represented.
The coin exhibits attractive circulated detail consistent with a VF / XF (Very Fine to Extremely Fine) example. Much of the major design detail remains visible, including the portrait of Queen Victoria and the principal elements of the Britannia reverse.
